Our cattery | ||
|
In the beginning we didn't give a thought to starting our own cattery. That the idea eventually occurred to us must be attributed to the fact that Sushi started doing rather well at shows. Sometimes it happened that spectators came to us and asked if we had kittens for sale. Furthermore, some judges and breeders told us that we ”must” mate Sushi, chiefly to maintain her outstanding temperament within the breed. The aim of our breeding is healthy and sound cats with the typical Ragdoll
temperament. To us, our cats are first and foremost family members. If it then turns out that a female has breeding qualities, and we find a suitable male, it may happen that we let her have a few litters. This attitude of course means that there will never be many Chaidee litters. It also means that we are very particular about who we allow to buy kittens from us. We of course want our "grandchildren" to have lives that are as good as our own cats'. |
This leads us to never applying a strict "first
come, first served" system. We do however accept expressions of interest, both when
we have or are planning a litter, as well as during the (long) intervals in between.
This gives us a chance to get to know prospective buyers, maybe meet at a show or
something. Maybe we should also mention that we take references whenever possible.
Good words from common friends or acquaintances carry a lot of weight
Since we ourselves enjoy both showing and breeding, it is nice if some of our kittens go to people with the same interests. This is however never a precondition, what is most important is that they come to good homes where they can go on being family members, just like they were during their time with us. Furthermore, some cats just don't agree with shows or breeding. Such cats should never be subjected to any activities of that kind. If you think you in the future may be interested in a kitten from us, please contact us, preferably by e-mail. We promise to reply to your mail, and to put you on our list of prospective buyers. Everybody on that list will be informed when there is a new litter on the way. | |
