Prosit is our first cat. He was born January 21, 2000 and came to us April 1,
but that does not make him an April fools' joke! He came from Cecilia Söder Tancred and her
husband Ronny, who then lived in Gävle.
Prosit is a very handsome seal colourpoint, not one of the biggest but very harmonically built with fine colours and contrasts. His temperament is angelic, but he is unfortunately a bit reserved and wary towards new people. He told us very early (and clearly) that he doesn't like cat shows: ”I can't stand crowds, I am a sofa- and bed-cat!”. He has, on the other hand, taken that job to hitherto unknown levels of perfection… Prosit is a very tactful and discreet cat. He likes to sit on the floor, a couple of meters from Mum or Dad, and look at us. That means something like: ”I don't want to disturb or interfere or anything, but I would really appreciate a bit of a cuddle.” If Dad then comes to sit on the floor to scratch him on the stomach for a little while, just half an hour or so, he's quite happy and will purr incessantly. Despite being of a cautious disposition, Prosit is a very responsible cat. He will for example almost never miss

running into the hall to growl when the newspaper is delivered in the small hours. Likewise
he likes to follow Sushi and keep an eye on her when she is out in the garden at the summer house. When
we go for our daily walk in wood, it is usually Prosit who makes certain that the family stays together,
and that Sushi doesn't fall behind when she stops to investigate some particularly interesting smell or
so…
At home in the flat, Prosit considers himself King, and his throne is the top platform of the climbing frame we have in the hall. From there he can oversee everything that happens, as nobody can go from one room to another without passing him. Furthermore, he is there at just the right height to have a chance for some cuddle whenever somebody passes! When Sushi had her first kittens Prosit took on yet another role, that of benevolent uncle. After initially being somewhat hesitant, he soon realised that all they needed was some talking-to, after which they became great fun to play with. The older the kittens became, the more they turned to "uncle" Prosit's company . Eventually all the cats were like one big, happy family.
