| S*Chaidee is a recently started,
small Ragdoll cattery in a home environment. We, who own and run it, are
Wichittra Mungmoon and Håkan Engström. The name Chaidee is
Thai and means ”kind” or literally
”good-hearted”. We think that suits our Ragdoll cats perfectly!
Wichittra originally comes from Thailand, but she has lived in Sweden for more than five years by now. She is studying to get a Swedish diploma, which is more useful here than her Thai one. Håkan is a native of Stockholm, an economist, and works as a business developer in the telecomms industry. From the beginning we were both "dog people", having grown up with dogs and also had dogs as adults. We however decided that we could not properly care for a dog, so we had resigned to live without an animal. Then one day we visited a couple of our best friends. They had for some time had a cat, a neutered Birman male. This time, however, they had recently got two very charming Birman female kittens... After that evening we started thinking whether a cat could not be something for us as well. So we started intensely reading everything we could find about cats. This led to us finding the Ragdoll breed. We must admit that from the beginning we were attracted by |
the fact that they were described as
"dog-like". Now we have learnt that they are something even better, they are
Ragdolls!
Our first cat, Prosit, came to us in the spring of 2000. He is a very handsome neutered male, who considers himself king of our home. When we had had Prosit for about two years, we decided that he ought to have a playmate. Then Sushi came to us, and our lives haven't been the same since. Sushi is a very resolute little lady who likes to say something like: ”I don't mind you being king, Prosit, as long as I make the decisions!”.
