 | This is Sushi's (and our) second litter. If we had to search a long time
for a suitable sire for the first litter, it was a breeze compared to this time. We visited and looked at numerous
males until we found one we really believed in. Then his owner had to neuter him less than two months before the
"big date"! So, another chase started, but then we found Eddie! He had almost everything we had been searching for:
Size (he weighs about 8 kgs), a strong chin, gorgeous boning, rich coat and, above all, a wonderful temerament.
The only problem was that he and his owner Camilla Olin (S*Escarceo's)
live in the south of Sweden, but necessity knows no law… Then it turned out that Sushi did not consider a 650 kms
car ride as a suitable foreplay, but eventually she realized what a handsome and charming boy Eddie is, so it all
turned out OK in the end.
This time we considered ourselves having experience as cat midwives, it was after all our second time… |
a big navel hernia! The day after Sushi's delivery we consequently sat in the Regional Animal Hospital at Bagarmossen while they
anaesthesized her and operated the hernia. We (and probably the veterinarians) didn't really think that she would make it, but she
did! This is the reason we named her Benecia, which means "the blessed". The operation went so well that our regular vet said that
he would have written "No sign of previous navel hernia" in her health certificate if we had not told him. A big thank you
to the wonderful staff at Bagarmossen!
After twelve weeks Benecia and Belladonna moved to their new homes. We got to keep Baloo for another eight weeks. Since he was moving to Germany he needed to have his rabies vaccination and get his own "passport". Just as with the A-litter we feel that we have been lucky enough to find really good new homes for our "grand-children", and that they can look forward to long and happy lives. |
